Adobe Photoshop Background Eraser Tutorial

How we use Background Eraser In Adobe Photoshop

In eraser section of adobe Photoshop we have three tools, Eraser , background eraser and magic eraser. All these three are use to erase any object. The background eraser also erases to transparency, but instead of of erasing the whole object in the range its only erase some specific color from the whole object. It's useful for backgrounds that have a range of colors in the background, but where the background colors are still distinct from the foreground object you want to isolate.

The most important thing to remember with this tool is to be very careful to keep the crosshairs away from the object you want to keep. When using this tool, you may notice some bits of the foreground object becoming slightly transparent along the edges. You needn't be terribly concerned with this, because you can always paint those bits back in using the Erase to History option or the History Brush.

lets see this flower image if we want to erase the green color from this image with background eraser tools then what we do :

First we select the Background Eraser Tools from Eraser Group from adobe Photoshop tools (Pressing E In tools Box)

Now select one option from Sampling from Option Bar ( continues , once , background Swatch). I select The sampling   " Continues " as my picture have not same green color so it is easy to delete all the color behind the flower if you have only one color then select sampling " Once" or background Swatch.

when I click on that image aria which I want to erase ( in my example green color behind the flower) and drag the eraser brush then the color in exactly under crosshairs in the center of the brush (presented by + sign ) is selected for delectation and color match in circle range will erase. be care full when you click with the background eraser brush in your image, you need to be very careful that the land only in the background area. The crosshairs take a sample for the background color, so if the crosshairs touch the foreground, it will remove part of the foreground. The color range is determined by the tolerance setting in the background eraser options. Since this image had a background that was all over very similar in color, a low tolerance setting was used. I choose the dissentious option because I wanted to remove the green  color everywhere it appears in the layer behind the flower.
